Hong Kong Public Holidays|With Statutory (Labour) Holiday Flags

Hong Kong public (general/bank) holidays by year, with flags for days that are also statutory (labour) holidays under the Employment Ordinance. Data is updated yearly.

Public holidays vs statutory holidays

Public holidays (also called bank holidays) are the days banks and typical offices close — usually 17 per year. Working-days calculators generally exclude these.

Statutory holidays (labour holidays) are the Employment Ordinance holidays every employee gets: 15 days in 2026/2027, rising to 16 in 2028 and 17 from 2030. The two lists are not identical — some public holidays are not statutory, and vice versa.
