Receipt generator
SMEs, freelancers, tutors and landlords often need to issue a receipt confirming payment. This tool lets you fill in the company name, receipt number, date, payer, amount and purpose to produce a bilingual receipt — the amount is shown automatically inwords— which you then print or save as PDF from your browser.
Receipt vs invoice
An invoice requests payment; a receipt confirms payment has been received. If payment is still outstanding, issue an invoice; this tool is for the receipt issued after payment.
Why print from the browser?
Because the receipt mixes Chinese and English, browser-native printing (then "Save as PDF") ensures Chinese fonts render correctly without embedding a large CJK font into the file. All your data stays in the browser and is never uploaded.
FAQ
What's the difference between a receipt and an invoice?
An invoice requests payment and is issued before or at the time of a transaction; a receipt confirms that payment has been received and is issued afterwards. This tool produces a payment receipt.
Is the amount in words generated automatically?
Yes. Once you enter the figure, the tool converts it to Chinese capitals (or English words) using our cheque-amount engine, reducing hand-writing errors.
How do I save it as a PDF?
Click 'Print / Save PDF' to open the print dialog, then choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination. Because it prints from the browser, both Chinese and English fonts display correctly.
